Fox Cancels King Of The Hill; Like 8 People Care

3 11 2008

Got this excellent little bit of pick me up news this morning via the New York Times:

“Although “King of the Hill,” which was created by Mike Judge and Greg Daniels, has been on the brink of cancellation before, the series has been a reliable part of Fox’s Sunday night animation schedule since 1997. The show will reach the 250-episode mark in May, and the final episodes are likely to be shown next summer. The cancellation of “King of the Hill” may make room on the schedule for two new animated comedies at Fox: the classroom spoof “Sit Down, Shut Up” and the “Family Guy” spin-off “The Cleveland Show.” Those series are scheduled to be given their premieres in early 2009.”

Good riddance.  This was seriously the only scripted show worse than reality TV.
